About the Pageant

Each year, the New Liskeard Fall Fair partners with the New Liskeard Friends of Festivals to sponsor the Harvest Queen Pageant. The Pageant is held throughout the end of August with judging completed on Thursday and Friday evening of the Fall Fair.

A total of fifteen young women aged 16 to 22 years old compete for the title of “Harvest Queen” to represent the Temiskaming region at the CNE the following year. The royalty also includes “1st” and “2nd Princess” and “Miss Congeniality”. Additional titles include “Miss Scholastic”.

The contestants enjoy a get acquainted pool party, and 3x weekly dance practices for their opening routine. Once Fair week arrives the contestants are kept busy with many additional activities. Monday night is a fitness competition, Wednesday night is interviews, followed by a social with parents and sponsors. Thursday the contestants compete in the Talent Show and Friday night is the Fashion Show and Crowning.

The Harvest Queen Pageant is an excellent opportunity for young women of our area to gain self-esteem, confidence, meet new friends and have fun with an amazing group of young women. The Pageant also helps prepare them for the future as they are each interviewed by a group of five judges.
