For Kids

Kid’s Day

The New Liskeard Fall Fair has designated Friday as Kids’ Day. On Friday afternoon, right after lunch, fifteen hundred school children march from New Liskeard Public School to the Fair grounds, highlighting the theme for the year, portraying their favorite character, pulling their best dressed wagon or showing off their best-dressed pet. Since the Participation Award is much sought after during the event, the cheers for their school drown out all other sounds as they march along the streets.

Brochures are sent to all schools in June outlining the Fair theme and parade route plans. Then a follow-up newsletter is sent out as a reminder during the first week of school.

All of the children who participate in the parade are given free admission to the Fair, enjoy a Treasure Hunt courtesy of local merchants, and end the afternoon with a free Midway ride donated by our many local sponsors.
