RULES FOR SHOWMANSHIP & CONFORMATION CLASSES

RULES
1. To show in 4H classes, you must be a member in the province of residence and must have succesfully completed a current 4H dairy calf project.
2. The calf is to be certified by the respective 4H club leader as the contestant’s 4H project.
3. Only 4H members participating in the show can prepare calves on show day.
4. All animals shown at the New Liskeard Fall Fair must have liability insurance.
5. Each 4H member will receive $25.00 as prize money for participation in both showmanship and conformation classes.  Prize money will be distributed at the conclusion of the 4H show.
6. All exhibitors must be members of the New Liskeard Agricultural Society.
7. Calves must be registered with the appropriate breed association.

 SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES
Showmanship will be judged by the following scale: 30% exhibitor appearance, 20% animal appearance, 50% exhibitor’s display of animal.
1. Pre-4H (9 yrs. old and under, as of January 1st, 2016)
2. Junior Showmanship (10-13 yrs. old, as of January 1st, 2016)
3. Senior Showmanship (14-21 yrs. old, as of January 1st, 2016)

The first two in each class return for Grand Champion Showmanship.

CONFORMATION CLASSES
1. Summer Calf – June 1, 2016 to August 31, 2016
2. Junior Calf – March 1, 2016 to May 31, 2016
3. Intermediate Calf – December 1, 2015 to February 28, 2016
4. Senior Calf – September 1, 2015 to November 30, 2015
5. Summer Yearling – June 1 , 2015 to August 31, 2015
6. Junior Yearling – March 1, 2015 to May 31, 2015

The first two in each class return for Grand Champion Calf.

RULES FOR 4H DAIRY TOPLINE CLIPPING COMPETITION
Thursday, September 15, 2016 & Friday, September 16, 2016 – Dairy Barn
1. All exhibitors must be a member in the province of residence and must have successfully completed a current 4H dairy calf project.
2. The calf is to be certified as the respective 4H club leader as the contestant’s 4H project.
3. All animals shown at the New Liskeard Fall Fair must have liability insurance.
4. All exhibitors must be members of the New Liskeard Agricultural Society.
5. Each 4H member will receive $10.00 as prize money for participa- tion in the clipping competition. Prize money will be distributed at the conclusion of the 4H show.
6. Calves are to arrive at the fairgrounds with 3 inches on either side of the topline (including the topline) not clipped. The remainder can be clipped prior to arrival to the fairgrounds.
7. Only those exhibitors in the junior and pre-4H sections can receive assistance.
8. All clipping must be completed by 11:30 am Friday, September 16, 2016.
9. Only the topline will be judged. Judging will take place at 12:15 pm (prior to the dairy show)

CLIPPING CLASSES

1. Pre-4H (9 yrs. old and under, as of January 1st, 2016)
2. Junior (10-13 yrs. old, as of January 1st, 2016)
3. Senior (14-21 yrs. old, as of January 1st, 2016)

The first two in each class will be considered for Grand Champion Clipping.
